Jonathan Cha is a Doctor of Spatial Planning and Urbanism, Urbanologist, Landscape Architect and Vanguard Next City Alumni. He holds the position of Senior Planning Advisor at Parc Jean-Drapeau, where he coordinated the 2020-2030 Conservation, Planning and Development Master Plan. As an expert in public spaces, heritage and history and critical landscape theory, he has written numerous studies during his career, published several articles and participated in a range of international conferences. A lecturer at the Faculty of Planning at the Université de Montréal, he is a member of the Alliance for Historic Landscape Preservation, the Canadian Association of Heritage Consultants, the CSLA Cultural Landscapes and Legacy Committee, of the editorial board of the journal ARQ Architecture et design Québec, of the Task Force on Chinatown, of the Jia Foundation, of several advisory committees on architecture, urban planning and heritage in Montreal and is governor of the council Board of Friends of the Mountain. He has served on the boards of directors of the Reford Gardens International Garden Festival and the Association des architectes paysagistes du Québec.
