She is a passionate urban park promoter and believe in the potential of public spaces to transform cities and communities. She helped create and am currently the executive director of Cuscatlán Park Foundation (FUNDAPARC) - an innovative non-profit designed to support San Salvador Municipality to manage, preserve and dynamize 17 acres of green space located near the historic center of San Salvador, El Salvador. She focus on collaborative public space management to advance equal access, security, and sustainability. She is convinced that public spaces, such as Cuscatlán Park, are an invaluable tool to foster physical and mental health and peacebuilding. Previously, Mayu worked at Glasswing International in the remodeling process of Cuscatlán Park, where she participated in transforming this place’s narrative from ‘abandonment and danger’ to ‘family destination and security’ - incorporating underserved communities through participative processes. My undergraduate is in Communications and Journalism, and she have an MBA, which has enabled her to apply other skills and knowledge to working with public spaces, including citizen security and park management.
