Nancy Goldenberg is the President & CEO of Laurel Hill Cemetery and West Laurel Hill Cemetery & West Laurel Hill Funeral Home, responsible for ensuring that the historic properties remain premier cultural and educational destinations and national leaders in the evolving death care industry. Prior to joining Laurel Hill Cemeteries in January 2018, Nancy served for nearly 20 years in multiple executive positions at the Center City District, Philadelphia’s premier downtown business improvement district. While there, she was responsible for funding, planning, and managing many of the CCD’s most recognized projects, including the renovation the Rail Park, Sister Cities Park, Collins Park, and Dilworth Park. Nancy also served as Chief of Staff for the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and was the Program Administrator for the Fairmount Park Commission’s Natural Lands Restoration & Environmental Education Program, a $26.6 million dollar privately funded program to restore the natural areas of Philadelphia’s park system. A native of Cincinnati, Nancy received her Bachelor of Arts degree from George Washington University and her Master’s Degree in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania. She is currently a board member of the City Parks Alliance, a national organization supporting the success of urban parks, and the Pennsylvania Cemeteries Cremation and Funeral Association. She in on the Cemeteries Committee of World Urban Parks, an international organization working to improve urban open spaces world-wide as well as a member of the executive committee of Greater Philadelphia Gardens. Nancy has served as chair of both the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Commission and the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. She is a founder of the Philadelphia Outward Bound School and for many years, served on its board. Nancy is an Honorary Member of the American Society of Landscape Architects, a lifetime achievement and among the highest honors that organization confers.
