Julia Bresee is the manager of the new National Urban Parks program at Parks Canada, responsible for the development of the national program through exploration of seven candidate national urban park sites across Canada, and a new National Urban Parks Policy. Julia joined Parks Canada in November 2021 after more than a dozen years spent working in policy, regulation and legislation in the cultural heritage sector. Born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, Julia grew up exploring many outdoor activities in the river valley, mountains and foothills of Western Canada. She now lives in Chelsea, Quebec, where she enjoys walking, cross-country skiing, swimming and gardening with her young family.
