An Indian Forest Service Officer currently posted with the GNCTD as Special Secretary, Department of Environment & Forest, with direct responsibility in improving the overall environmental quality, including conservation of forests, wildlife and wetlands in the national capital territory of Delhi. Actively engaged in overall environmental assessment, monitoring, protection and awareness generation including supervision as well as mentoring of a wide spectrum of scientific officers and enforcement personnel of laws on forest and wildlife conservation and environmental protection. Also, holds the position of Member Secretary, Delhi Pollution Control Committee working on protection and improvement of environment of Delhi through comprehensive programs, advising the government on prevention and control of pollution; enforcement of environmental legislations and judicial pronouncements on environment, dissemination of information, facilitating investigation, research and capacity building on environmental standards, evolving economic methods of treating, utilizing and disposing environmental wastes towards ensuring prevention, control and abatement of environmental pollution in Delhi including water, air, solid wastes, hazardous wastes, electronic wastes etc. Moreover, he is also the Chief Executive Officer, Delhi Parks and Gardens Society undertaking planning and coordinating management of urban green spaces like parks and gardens in Delhi with public agencies like municipal corporations, development authorities and land-owning agencies and extending financial and technical assistance to community-based organisations to increase greenery and equitable access to green spaces in a highly expanding urban environment of Delhi.
